Ashley H. Gaskin is a nationally certified Physician Assistant with over six years of hands-on experience in general surgery, trauma, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, and advanced wound care. Known for her compassionate patient care, surgical assistance, and collaborative approach, Ashley has consistently demonstrated excellence in both clinical and leadership roles.
She began her medical journey with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Auburn University. She continued her education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earning her degree as a Physician Assistant in 2006.
Ashley served as a surgical PA at The Surgery Clinic in Gadsden, Alabama, from 2006 to 2012, where she supported six general surgeons and worked across multiple hospitals and surgery centers. Her responsibilities ranged from hospital rounds and pre-op evaluations to assisting in complex surgical procedures and post-op care. She later expanded her expertise by covering orthopaedic and plastic surgery as an independent contractor, delivering high-quality care and surgical support.
After stepping away from clinical practice from 2012 to 2023 to focus on motherhood and writing, Ashley re-entered the healthcare field with a renewed sense of purpose. During this time, she authored two published articles and maintained a blog, Thirty Plus Four. In 2024, she resumed practicing as an independent contractor PA-C, specializing in wound care through home health and clinic services.
Currently licensed in both Arizona and Alabama, Ashley is a registered member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). She is recognized for her communication, organizational skills, and dedication to patient and family education.
